Team of the 2000's???
Posted on June 15, 2009 at 09:08 AM.
First and foremost, I am a Lakers fan, just to get it out there. That being said, congratulations to the Lakers and Phil Jackson (the greatest coach of all time, in any sport, but that's another blog!!!). My only thoughts were, which team will be the dominant team of this decade? In the 60's, there were the Celtics, 80's the Lakers, 90's the Bulls, and now in this decade, you have 2 teams with 4 Finals Championships. The San Antonio Spurs with 3, and winning every one they have played in (also winners of '99), and the Los Angelas Lakers: winners of 4 and playing in 6. I just wanted to know what everyone else thought.

Gotta give it to the Lakers. 4 championships and six Finals appearances in one decade is an amazing feat. The Spurs are a close 2nd, but their feats don't match what the Lakers have done.

Overrated? Come on. I'm not trying to start a flame war, but that's a little ridiculous. Any team that wins four titles in nine years is anything but overrated.

And yes, as long as the Lakers have Kobe, they'll have a shot. Especially now that they've found a strong supporting cast to compliment him.

What's ridiculous is the need to label anyone as the best _______ of all-time or the best _______ of a certain time period. All I can say is that the Lakers won the 2008-09 NBA Championship and Phil Jackson was their coach. Let's not go overboard with comparisons or superlatives.

Hubcaps,

It might be ridiculous but it's the world we live in. Besides, me personally, I love that kind of stuff, hint as to why I blogged about it.

lakers were overrated. They just got every single break they needed to win the finals. A: Kevin Garnett got hurt, and B: Cavs didn't make the finals. They took advantage of those breaks but come on this team would not have beaten a healthy boston or cleveland.

PG they beat both of those teams this year. Besides, whose to say Cavs or a healthy Celts would've beat the Magic this year? Well, the Cavs didn't.
